The Center for Biomedical Modeling

We conduct geospatial modeling of HIV epidemics and the interventions that are needed to eliminate HIV. We are based in Los Angeles, but we conduct our research in sub-Saharan Africa. Our current focus is on Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Lesotho, and Eswatini. Previously we have worked in South Africa and Namibia.

Mobility

Human mobility is an important driver of HIV epidemics

Health Inequity

Health inequities prevent HIV elimination in sub-Saharan Africa

Health Policy Modeling

Mathematical models can assist in decision making
